What is Metocin?
Metocin (4-HO-MET) was first synthesized by Alexander “Sasha” Shulgin in the 1970s. Adored by Psychonauts for decades, Metocin is the cleaner clear headed alternative to classic shrooms, with stronger visuals.
What does it do?
It is said to produce effects very similar to those of psilocin.
Psilocin (4-HO-DMT) is best known as the active tryptamine that psilocybin metabolizes into when you consume “magic mushrooms”.
What’s the dosage?
At 99% purity, the effects of Metocin can be felt at 1mg.
3mg of Metocin should be slightly stronger experience than a half a gram of magic mushrooms.
Our Xüm tablets are 3mg each.
The experience will begin within
about 10 to 15 minutes. The peak of the experience will generally be about 2
hours in, and should be pretty much over in 4 hours. A gentle afterglow can linger for another hour or 2.
A Quarter to Half Tab is a microdose, a barely perceptual but powerful nootropic. Not a trip, this dose is great for creativity or productivity.
1-2 tablets will create a manageable light, social and playful experience.
4 tablets should begin to feel trippy. Manageable with intentional company only.
6 tablets is deep transcendental with very strong visuals. A stunning personal journey, you must flow with (never against), and ensure you have a private safe environment.
All doses are brain food.
What does it feel like?
Effects can include euphoria, tingling sensations, perceptual changes, open-and-closed eye visuals, synesthesia, time dilation,
intensified perceptions, thoughts & feelings, and a general change in thought processes.
Do I need to worry about mixing this with other things?
Treat this the way you would magic mushrooms – be careful of supplements and medications that impact serotonin (avoid mixing with things like SAMe or MAOIs), and be aware that SSRIs & SNRIs can often make Metocin less effective.
Metocin is cross-tolerant with other psychedelics – you may enhance the experience if taken together, but may diminish the experience if taken too soon after one another. We recommend 14 days between large doses or other psychedelics. Please consume responsibly & carefully.
Metocin does usually pair beautifully with cannabis.
We do not recommend pairing it with alcohol - it tends to muddy the effects.
What’s the shelf life if I buy a jar?
Approximately 2 years, and likely much longer.
Every package will come with a batch number and expiration date on it!

Straight up, shrooms take several weeks to grow, they do not taste good, they cause nausea, and biologicals can not offer predictable consistency.
Metocin is the cleaner alternative to shrooms.
XÜM is a meaningful evolution.
But what about plant medicine?
Compounds can be synthesized in nature, or in a laboratory.
And a bunch of cramped tubs in a warehouse growing shrooms is not nature anyway.
Many compounds found in nature are also produced synthetically.
We’re non-judgmental about the source of compounds, except to ensure that they are clean, safe, and produce the desired effects.
Is this legal?
Metocin is not federally scheduled, nor banned.
Is this one of those “premium mushroom blend/proprietary mushroom blend” products?
We are allergic to this non-sense of "Proprietary Mushroom Blends" and "Non-Detect COAs"
Clarity is core to our identity as it is core to the only safe responsible way to consume these compounds.
We’re not hiding what’s inside, we’re not using ephemisms or innuendo. This product isn’t amanita, or an unnamed chemical, or a hemp derivative. We’re explicit about the ingredients, and you never have to wonder what’s inside.

What's with the Active Ingredient / Active Compound distinction on your packaging?
Amount of Active Compound is the future gold standard, and the spec that fixes everything.
Let's back up.
The target dose of each XÜM tablet is slightly more than a half gram of shrooms.
Dry weight of shrooms is the most commonly understood standard, but it is archaic, and completely inconsistent.
(Still better than eyeballing the number of caps and stems in your handful, like back in the 90s and before).
Enthusiasts have begun to look at the milligram of Active Material as a new standard to evaluate dosing.
But Active Material is the wrong spec because purity between active material can vary so wildly.
For decades, Metocin was only available from clandestine labs at low purity levels between 30-50%
This is why the Psychonaut Wiki dosing guide for Metocin is absurdly wrong, for modern high purity material.
A milligram of Metocin material from one lab does not equal a milligram of Metocin material from another lab.
Compounds don't have a widely adopted PROOF standard like Alcohol. A liter of wine is nowhere near as much alcohol as a liter of everclear.
Amount of Active Compound is the future standard, and the spec that fixes everything.
Purity can be thought of as how much Active Compound is in your Active Material.
You can weigh Active Material on a scale.
